How to create a read-only API key on Bybit

Use this when you want DerivCC to read Bybit positions and wallet context without trading or withdrawal access.

Before You Start

DerivCC only needs read permissions.

Leave trade, withdrawal, transfer, and account-management scopes off. If an exchange screen asks for write access, do not enable it for DerivCC.

Step-by-Step Setup

  1. 1Open Bybit on desktop and go to API Management. Bybit states API key creation is available on the website, not the app.
  2. 2Select Create New Key, then choose a system-generated key if Bybit asks for the key type.
  3. 3Name the key clearly, for example DerivCC read only.
  4. 4Set permissions to read-only/view-only. Do not enable contract trade, spot trade, transfer, withdrawal, or account-management permissions.
  5. 5Apply IP restrictions if your deployment uses stable outbound IPs; otherwise keep the key reviewable and rotate it if anything looks wrong.
  6. 6Complete 2FA, copy the API key and secret once, then add them inside DerivCC under Settings > API Keys.

Next Step

After creating the key, add it inside DerivCC under Settings, API Keys. Public market data still works without an exchange key.
